THE MANATUS
HOTEL AMBASSADOR
The manatee (Trichechus manatus) or “sea cow” can reach 3 meters and weigh almost 1 ton.
This species lives in the Caribbean of Costa Rica and is in danger of extinction, that is why the Hotel Manatus joined forces with the Foundation for the Conservation of the Manatee, with the objective of raising awareness and inform about their behavior and the protection of their habitat.
The efforts of our hotel to care for the manatee made us
winners of the National Geographic Flag.
