Sport fishing is really big in Limón, especially in the north part of the province. Here, the incredible national parks Tortuguero and Barra del Colorado offer great angling
opportunities.

Barra del Colorado is the largest reserve in the country and has excellent fishing opportunities throughout the year in
freshwater and marina fishing. The tarpon fishing season is from January to June, while from September to December you will find a lot of bass.
Information about the Sport Fishing Tour in Tortuguero
Fishing tours are operated by the Mr. Eddie Brown’s Company.
They have specialized fishing boats, and all permits and insurance requirements for this activity.
This tour is available for sport fishing in river or sea and can be done in a day or half day.

FISH TYPES
At the Caribbean Sea you will find the following fish depending on the season:
- The Tarpon (Sabalo) fishing season is from January to June; you can also find a lot of Bass from September to December.
- On the coast you will find Macarela and Barracuda. Offshore there are large quantities of Marlin, Sailfish and Tuna.
- Throughout all the rivers in the area of Barra del Colorado and Tortuguero you can also find fish such as Crushed Bass and Rainbow Bass.
