TORTUGUERO CANALS

One of the most important attractions of the area are its endless canals and meanders; a real natural labyrinth surrounded by dense tropical forest and rich local fauna. Here you can see monkeys, sloths and birds; besides a great variety of aquatic animals like turtles, alligators and crocodiles.

SEA GREEN TURTLES CANALS

The beach of Tortuguero Tortuguero attracts one of the largest nesting populations of sea turtles, known at an international level as a research instrument for scientific investigation and environmental education. It’s important to take into account that all this process has to be done under supervision of professionals, because any kind of disturbance can scare the turtles and make them go back to the sea without ending their spawning.

Costa Rica really has a lot of natural jewels, but definitely, Tortuguero is a diamond in rough, and we, at Manatus Hotel are focused in maintaining the sustainability standards in order to present our guests many options to do ecotourism in a responsible way.
